Frequently Asked Questions

Ed & Ted’s works with adult, senior, and/or civic centers across Michigan.  Most travelers sign up for trips either at those centers, where flyers on Ed & Ted’s tours are available, or they call us and sign up directly with an Ed & Ted’s representative. There are three ways to sign up directly with Ed & Ted’s: select the trip of your choice on our website and pay by credit card, or call us at 877-377-0779, or email us at candice.korzecki@smrhotels.com You can also print one of our flyers from the website and mail the registration form with payment to our fulfillment office at Ed & Ted’s ETEA Fulfillment, 2772 Florence Drive, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.

All registrations require a deposit per person at the time of booking to secure your reservation. This deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your trip. The remaining balance (final payment) is due no later than 45 days prior to departure. Reservations not paid in full by this deadline may be subject to cancellation, and deposits may be forfeited in accordance with the cancellation policy. We strongly recommend timely payment to ensure your space is guaranteed. Late payments, if accepted, may result in additional fees or loss of confirmed services.

A charge of 50 percent (50%) of the trip cost, based on double occupancy, will apply to all cancellations made within 45 days of departure. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 14 days (2 weeks) of departure. We strongly encourage the purchase of travel protection insurance to safeguard against unforeseen circumstances that may lead to cancellation or interruption of travel.

Safety is our top priority at Ed & Ted’s, and we only use motorcoach companies that have the highest rating issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation. We also ensure that the quality of the motorcoaches meets our customers’ expectations, including clean restrooms, wi-fi, and electrical outlets at each seating position.

Motorcoaches travel at highway speed, assuring that you get to your destination at the same time as if you were driving a car.  However, regulations limit the number of hours a motorcoach driver can drive, so stops are planned with that in mind.

Scooters, walkers, and wheelchairs can all be accommodated at Ed & Ted’s. If you have food allergies or other dietary needs, our staff will be more than happy to assist you and make arrangements whenever possible.  Just let us know when you make your reservation. Please note that stops en route are not always planned for specific locations.

We typically use three-star or better properties at our destination and en route to our destination.

For most trips, casual dress is appropriate.  There is no need for more formal attire.  Before departure, we will advise you of seasonal temperatures for our destinations, so that you can plan accordingly.  Keep in mind that it is difficult to maintain the “perfect” temperature for everyone on the motorcoach.  We strongly encourage travelers to dress in layers and even consider bringing a light blanket in case you get cold while we’re on the road.

Out of consideration for your fellow travelers, we do ask that travelers avoid strong scents, such as perfumes or lotions, and overpowering foods while traveling on the motorcoach. Snacks and beverages are also permitted on the motorcoach. You should also bring earbuds or headphones for your electronic devices to respect your fellow travelers.

Each guest is allowed one piece of luggage per trip.  Before departure, you will receive an Ed & Ted’s luggage tag.  Please attach the tag to your luggage prior to departure.  The tags ensure that we can get your luggage to your room quickly and that you are on the correct motorcoach. You are allowed to bring a carry-on bag as well.  We recommend you keep your easy access items like medications, books, electronic devices, camera, etc. in your carry-on bag.

Approximately two weeks before departure, you will receive a detailed itinerary from Ed & Ted’s.  This will include all of our destination hotels and contact information.  We recommend that you leave a copy of this information with someone at home, in case of an emergency.

If, for any reason, Ed & Ted’s needs to cancel the trip, a full refund will be given to each passenger.

All tips/gratuities for items included in the Adventure are included in the price, for example, tips during a planned dinner, tips for luggage handlers, etc.  However, tips for the motorcoach driver and the tour escorts are not included.  A gratuity of $2.00 to $3.00 per day for each is considered the industry standard, so please take into consideration the effort your driver and tour escort have put forth.

Thank you for considering a travel adventure with Ed & Ted’s Excellent Adventures!  If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 877-377-0779 or email us at Candice.korzecki@smrhotels.com.
